Maria GoJa, a versatile multiinstrumentalist trained from an early age in violin, piano, vocals, and later on percussion, is a composer for films, theater, and video productions. With a Master of Arts degree in music ethnology and a deep understanding of diverse music cultures such as North Indian Dhrupad, middle eastern, and West African styles, Maria’s compositions reflect her classical background and wide-ranging influences from Soul, Jazz, HipHop to Indie Pop. She explores various genres and soundscapes, pushing boundaries and crafting music that perfectly captures the essence and message of each project. Maria’s portfolio includes works like “Hashem” (2025), “Song of Solomon” (2020), “Waiting for Giddo” (2015), “Disconnections” (2015), and “I Am That” (2014) in the realm of filmmusic, as well as “Sometimes at Night” (2013) and “MissFire” (2012) in theatermusic.

MissFire is a theaterplay written and directed by israeli-palestinian actor, director and writer Shredy with music composed by Maria GoJa. The play performed on stage in Tel Aviv at the Arab-Hebrew Theater and on the Festival of Acre.
The project evolved from a unique, intercultural collaboration of Shredy Jabarin and Maria GoJa. It tells a story about dealing with manifold identities, formed as social, cultural and political by our limiting constraints; about longing for an universal to overcome unintended distance; about the interacting levels of reality that are similar to all humans: the relation to the inner self, to others and to various society codes. A special intention of both artists is to connect and find the similarity between worlds that appear different. Art is holding this promise to bridge human gaps.
